If you know your website's conversion rate, then in our experience, that places you in the top half of one percent of website owners.   If you know where the conversions are coming from, then you are probably in the top 5% of that small group. 

Conversion analysis is both an art and a science.  The object is to improve the amount of revenue generated from a given amount of traffic.

Steps

  1. Set up the measurement of the conversions.  (science)
  2. Use the information generated to develop experiments (art)
  3. Use that info to improve the conversion rate (back to science).
  4. Adding pages? Modifying pages?  Altering the navigation?  Clarifying text?  Adding images?  Removing images?  Changing images? 
    Just like science, there's a control and a variable and the variable is either better, worse, or the same as the control. 


It's not rocket science, it's just science, with a little bit of art.

If you don't know your website's conversion rate, or didn't know it could be measured, then you are part of a large group of website owners.  There are some membership openings in the other group!
